ACTI Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Caregiver CEUs
Caregivers are required by ADHS rules to complete a minimum of 12 hours of Continuing Education every 12 months of employment. It is the responsibility of the facility manager to ensure that caregivers satisfy this requirement. Failure to do so is considered a violation of State rules.

    Package 4 ( 6 Units )
  • 2 units - Taking Vital Signs
  • 2 units - Exercise and Activity
  • 2 units - Body Mechanics
Cost or Caregiver CEUs $90 for 12 CEU Units and $50 for 6 CEU units.


Individual CEU Courses (All 2 Units)

You may select any 3 courses from this list to meet your requirements
  1. Promoting resident dignity, independence, self-determination, privacy, choice, and resident rights
  2. Fire, safety, and emergency procedures
  3. Infection control
  4. Assistance in self-administration of medications
  5. Abuse, neglect, and exploitation prevention and reporting requirements
Manager CEUs
Facility Managers are required to complete 24 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every 2 years to satisfy requirements for biennial renewal of their license. 40% of these CEUs can be obtained online or by self study. We offer the following courses for Manager CEUs by self study and online. All our courses are either approved or pending approval of the Arizona NCIA Board.

  5. Nutrition and Fluids for Elderly Residents - 5 units
  6. Easing the Pains and Symptoms of Aging - 4 units
  7. Promoting Physical and Mental Well-Being of Elderly Residents - 4 units
  8. What Makes a Good Manager of an Assisted Living Facility - 4 units
  9. Promoting Self-Esteem of Residents with Alzheimer’s Disease - 4 units
  10. Useful Medical Abbreviations and Transcriptions to make Reporting Easy - 4 units
  11. Advance Directives - Respecting the Wishes of Elderly Residents - 4 units
  12. Federal and State Laws that Promote Residents’ Rights - 3 units
  13. Guiding Principles for Quality Service and Management in Assisted Living - 2 units
  14. Understanding Medicare/Medicaid in Arizona - 2 units
Cost of CEUs: $11/CEU units or $100 for 10 CEU units.

PROCEDURE FOR SELF STUDY

  1. Complete registration form and mail or fax to ACTI with payment.
  2. On receipt of registration form, reading materials will be mailed or e-mailed.
  3. Review the material and answer test questions that are designed to cover each content area.
  4. Return completed test questions to ACTI by mail, fax or e-mail.
  5. Test questions will be graded.
  6. If you score 80% and above, you will recieve a certificate or completion.
  7. If you score below 89%, you will recieve on more opportunity to re-test.
